About Neighbor To Neighbor
Started in 2005, Neighbor to Neighbor of South Carolina (N2N) works to make sure our senior and vulnerable neighbors are able to live their lives independently and with respect. N2N wants our neighbors to “age in place”. When adults are not able to drive, they can become prisoners in their own homes. Why?
- Their family members are working and not able to take time off or live in other states
- Public buses do not run routes near their home
- Cab services cost too much for families on a fixed paycheck

Why Care?
Our neighbors, just like you, want to live a life filled with meaning, purpose, activity! N2N helps senior and vulnerable adults by encouraging connections for their health and self-independence.
Many studies show that adults with loneliness and isolation are more at risk for:
- Depression
- Increased risk for dementia
- Long term illness
- Elder abuse scams
- Need for long term care
- Early death
This creates a problem for our neighbors and our shared medical services.
Give a Ride, Get a Ride!
N2N matches local drivers with local neighbors to provide a free ride and conversation. Rides are provided to:
- A doctor’s appointment
- To pick up food at the grocery stores
- A haircut or perm at the beauty salon
- Pick up medication at the pharmacy
- Drop off a deposit to the bank
- Fun at the local senior center
- Connect with a local support group
As a United Way community partner, N2N also works with our neighbors and volunteers to provide info about local organizations.
Since 2008, Neighbor to Neighbor provided…
free rides to..
vulnerable adults and seniors with..
volunteer drivers!
We expect the need to grow because Myrtle Beach, SC is the second fastest growing city in America for people 55 and older
Today, N2N serves seniors in Horry and Georgetown Counties in South Carolina and Brunswick County, North Carolina. Williamsburg County will soon be added as a service county.
